I was on the phone casually chatting with D.C. photographer Justin Robinson (www.thejsrexperience.com). He was telling me that he was suppose to come to NY to work with award winning actor Julian Walker but he was not gonna be in town that weekend. I told him i wished I had the opportunity to work with more actors because they are more comfortable with being presented in a different light than today's models. He suggested I reach out to him through instagram and see if he was interested in working with me instead. He also said he would contact him and as well. Julian hit me back right away and we set up a day and time.

I was so nervous and excited especially because I saw the movie Blackbird about 3 times already. I
watched it again just to study is mannerisms and facial expressions.

Julian Walker is also a country boy like me. I am from Memphis,Tn and  he is from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was college student at The University of Southern Mississippi when he submitted an audition tape for a feature film shooting locally. Although he had no prior acting experience, Julian's untapped, natural talent caught the eye of writer-director Patrik-Ian Polk (Punks, Noah's Arc, The Skinny) and he landed the lead role of Randy Rousseau in the Mississippi-set coming-of-age drama "Blackbird" featuring  Oscar-winner Mo'Nique and veteran actor Isaiah Washington. Because of his  performance L.A. Times named him one of the top 8 young black actors to watch.

Julian recently finsihed his first year apart of a National organization geared towards spreading awareness of HIV/AIDS to young men of color while prepping them for the real world. He strongly believes in motivating young men in fighting for their dream regardless of negative stigma. As he enters his second year of the organization he hopes to continue spreading positive energy to men & women across the country.

Recently named the recipient of the 2016 Humanitarian Award of Televison & Film at the Visions Community Foundations award ceremony, for his hard work within the community. He appreared on the Bounce TV's hit series Saints & Sinners as youth choir member Taj.

One of the things I hate about living in New York is the unavoidable mouse/rat situation. I have an extreme fear of any mice, rats, hamsters, gerbils, or any small furry creatures that run really fast. While sitting with Julian a mouse decided to make a cameo appearance in my living room. It got stuck on one of those sticky traps and tried to drag it behind the stove and made hella noise. I totally freaked out....i wanted to die. Of all moments in life for something like that to happen... I almost had an emotional breakdown. I was so embarrassed. He was so calm and chill and  seemingly unfazed, I was able to get myself together and finish the shoot. (My roommate, Geremy, caught it and "disposed" of 'em. haven't seen one since.)
