I was on the phone casually chatting with D.C. photographer Justin Robinson (www.thejsrexperience.com). He was telling me that he was suppose to come to NY to work with award winning actor Julian Walker but he was not gonna be in town that weekend. I told him i wished I had the opportunity to work with more actors because they are more comfortable with being presented in a different light than today's models. He suggested I reach out to him through instagram and see if he was interested in working with me instead. He also said he would contact him and as well. Julian hit me back right away and we set up a day and time.

I was so nervous and excited especially because I saw the movie Blackbird about 3 times already. I
watched it again just to study is mannerisms and facial expressions.

Julian Walker is also a country boy like me. I am from Memphis,Tn and  he is from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was college student at The University of Southern Mississippi when he submitted an audition tape for a feature film shooting locally. Although he had no prior acting experience, Julian's untapped, natural talent caught the eye of writer-director Patrik-Ian Polk (Punks, Noah's Arc, The Skinny) and he landed the lead role of Randy Rousseau in the Mississippi-set coming-of-age drama "Blackbird" featuring  Oscar-winner Mo'Nique and veteran actor Isaiah Washington. Because of his  performance L.A. Times named him one of the top 8 young black actors to watch.

Julian recently finsihed his first year apart of a National organization geared towards spreading awareness of HIV/AIDS to young men of color while prepping them for the real world. He strongly believes in motivating young men in fighting for their dream regardless of negative stigma. As he enters his second year of the organization he hopes to continue spreading positive energy to men & women across the country.

Recently named the recipient of the 2016 Humanitarian Award of Televison & Film at the Visions Community Foundations award ceremony, for his hard work within the community. He appreared on the Bounce TV's hit series Saints & Sinners as youth choir member Taj.

One of the things I hate about living in New York is the unavoidable mouse/rat situation. I have an extreme fear of any mice, rats, hamsters, gerbils, or any small furry creatures that run really fast. While sitting with Julian a mouse decided to make a cameo appearance in my living room. It got stuck on one of those sticky traps and tried to drag it behind the stove and made hella noise. I totally freaked out....i wanted to die. Of all moments in life for something like that to happen... I almost had an emotional breakdown. I was so embarrassed. He was so calm and chill and  seemingly unfazed, I was able to get myself together and finish the shoot. (My roommate, Geremy, caught it and "disposed" of 'em. haven't seen one since.)

I am so thankful for  Justin Robinson for helping me  with the  opportunity to work with Julian Walker. I love  the  images and I look forward to doing more work the  next time Julian is  in town.

I liked the video and the song and internet surfing for more music. I eventual went to his Facebook page and noticed that he was in NY visiting his family. I decided to reach out to him to set up a quick portrait session. He stopped by before heading back to LA.

BLURRED LINES MAGAZINE feat. Brandon Ramon Williams

photo & concept by Tarrice Love (@bytarricelove)

featured in Blurred Lines Magazine

Brandon Ramon Williams is a model/actor represented by Kim Dawson in Dallas, Texas, CGM-Caroline Gleason Mgmt in Miami, and CESD Talent in New York. I've been working with Brandon for years and we've become good friends.

Brandon told me Blurred Lines Magazine contacted him about submitting images to be featured in an upcoming issue. They told him they'd give him the cover if he could get me to shoot it. I don't get asked to shoot cover features or editorials for magazines because i don't get any kind of creative freedom and they don't offer any kind of payment. Most of the time editorials turn in to "advertorials" used to reinforce advertising in the magazine. The magazine and advertisers are the main ones making money. The photographers aren't making money...they are suppose to want to do this for the exposure. I never needed the exposure....i have built a fairly respected name for myself.  I'm always interested in any opportunity where i get to show my creative side and do something new..

Doing this Blurred Lines Magazine cover and feature gave me opportunity to show people that my work was magazine worthy. It also gave me the opportunity to shoot a cover that people would remember they saw and inspire them.

Brandon has done some great sexy images with photographers like Rick Day and Karl Simone. I wanted to do something sexy but also show his personality. through the images, I wanted people to want to know him.

The theme was "Battle of the Sexes" - I wanted to do something that was fun and sexy. I wanted it to be the kind of sexy that appealed to straight men, gay men, and women in a way that would make them smile and laugh inside the head. I wanted to do something that a magazine wouldn't ideally ask for and other photographers and models would be inspired.

The concept was inspired by a photo Lady Gaga on the cover of V Magazine. I kept staring at her dark lipstick thinking I could draw a pair of lips on a piece of cardboard and have him play with it .... thought it would be cool for a cover closeup. After that my mind exploded and a pair of lips turned into body parts.

I hope the viewers enjoy looking at these images as much as me and Brandon enjoyed creating them.

The Bachelor Chef Ryan Eli Salter

Friday May 13th I attended A Young Palate fashion Tasting at Public Factory in Soho. My friend , Ryan Eli Salter is The Bachelor Chef. I told him I wanted to photograph some food for my website I'm building and he invited me. I was my first time attending a food tasting event and it was also my first time photographing an event in NYC.

The event was hosted at The Public Factory which is a beautiful retail space that house about 15 unique men's and women's wear designers.
Sounds provided by twin models/DJs Torey & Khorey McDonald. - DJ's Soundcloud:https://soundcloud.com/toreyandkhorey

Fashion Tasting included (3) Carribean-Soul Inspired Dishes:
Grilled Chicken w/ BBQ Jerk Glaze & Mango Salsa on a Torta Roll
Shrimp Gyoza w/ Black Garlic & Chardonnay Sauce
Pineapple & Jalapeno Cerviche w/ Plantain Chips

I'm not a big fan of extremely spicy foods but those grilled chicken sliders with the bbq jerk glaze were delicious. My favorite was the Shrimp Gyoza w/ Black Garlic & Chardonnay Sauce. They were really good.

The Bachelor Chef with his sous-chef/ sever/ business partner extraordinaire Kathleen Adams
The beverage of the night was fresh lemonade with rosemary and basil leaves perfectly complimented the jerk chicken

After the Tasting, guests are escorted to HAUS Nightclub in TriBeCa for an after-party to remember... I was tired. I went home.
